Cabernet Sauvignon Screaming Eagle 1992

The most expensive wine ever to be sold is a 6 litre bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon Screaming Eagle  1992 that was sold at a charity auction in 2000 at the astronomical price of 500.000 dollars.
If on the other hand we go and see the list of bottles normally on sale we find in prime position Richebourg Grand Cru Cote de Nuits produced by the late Henri Jayer the Pinot Noir Wizard. Jayer concentrated on the naturalness in producing extraordinary Burgundies with great concentration, small production to be remembered such as this one. The price of 15.887 Dollars is the highest declared by the stores on Wine Searcher. This portal is the most trustworthy source on an international level because here merge the lists of 47,000 wine stores from all over the world. If they say that the average price of a certain labels is the highest, we can be sure that that is so.

Ornellaia interno

Chateau Pavie

Still in the same list with the 50 most expensive wines we find  Petrus with the maximum price of  60.221dollars and a Domaine de la Romanee Conti Montrachet at 59.565$. Two myths that every wine lover would want to taste at least once in their lives, maybe just avoiding these unreachable bottles. Last curiosity while staying in the world of super pricey wines: is the list of the most powerful brands. In this case the information comes from Liv-ex  a web site that resembles  Nasdaq with its Stock Exchange .In the  slide show  at the top of the page pass the bottles on offer of Mouton Rothschild, Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque , Yquem.…

Liv-ex publishes every year , together with  The Drinks Business, the list of the best brands in the wine world: “Power 100”. In the last edition of this very prestigious repertoire the Italian wineries have come up trumps: Sassicaia in 3rd position, followed by Ornellaia and Gaja respectively in 13th and 14th position. There are also  Masseto, Giacomo Conterno, Bruno Giacosa, Solaia, Tignanello, Le Macchiole and Guado al tasso. There is a lot of Bolgheri and lots of Tuscany among the great Italian brands present in the International panorama of luxury wines. But on the highest point of the podium there is still standing strong a French wine: Chateau Pavie.
