Fattoria del Colle, a small hamlet in Tuscany, comprises a country inn, a restaurant, a fitness centre with spa, in a a region still miraculously unchanged that offers guests weekends in Tuscany with the experience of reliving history.
It is in the Chianti and Orcia DOC producing regions. 336 hectares of which 17 are vineyard and 6 olive grove.
In Italy’s most beautiful countryside where landscapes tell an age-old story, the Fattoria del Colle is still unspoilt, lived in and, a unique case in Tuscany, open to the public for guided visits. Tourists discover the charm of old noble dwellings that resemble museums where every room has a story to tell of lovers and tradition.
The historic cellar is located in the basement of the house built in 1592 by the Socini, the ancestors of Donatella Cinelli Colombini. It includes a medieval hermitage now transformed into a Brunello infernotto, the ancient historic cellar and the barrel room where the Cinderella Doc Orcia and the Drago and the Otto Colombe IGT rest. The production cellar contains steel and concrete vats for fermentation and outside the recent expansion and restoration has surrounded it with a corten wood. Inside there is a new room dedicated to video vineyard experiences.
Fattoria del Colle offers Tuscan farmhouse apartments. Sojourns can vary from short one-night stays to several weeks’ holidays.
The estate is a small hamlet miraculously unspoilt through the course of the centuries. At the heart of the hamlet stand the 16th century villa and chapel and the old sharecropper dwellings currently renovated into apartments and rooms of the agriturismo, two restaurant, the spa, and the cookery school.
Surrounding the estate are three parks, three swimming pools, a tennis court and a landscape that could be the background of a Renaissance painting, with vineyards olive groves, fields of grains and white truffle reserves.
Every day Fattoria del Colle organizes at least one activity: brief cookery courses, guided tours of the historic apartment or of the Casato Prime Donne winery and the Fattoria del Colle winery, wine tastings, oil tastings and trails through the woods with bow and arrow.

The estate has 4 large well lit car parks.
Among the varieties grown here is the old forgotten and abandoned ‘Foglia Tonda’ rediscovered and appreciated after more than a century by Donatella Cinelli Colombini.
The other vineyards boast Chianti Superiore Docg, Cenerentola and Leone Rosso – both Doc Orcia; Il Drago e Le Otto Colombe IGT Toscana; Vinsanto Doc Chianti, Dessert wine of Traminer grapes as well as extra virgin olive oil Dop Terre di Siena in monocultivars of Corregiolo (frantoio) and Moraiolo.
